We were on the way to school and I was giving the kids money for lunch. Ethan has never done this before so I was giving him instructions.
ME: "Ethan, make sure that when it is lunch time you take this money out of your backpack and give it to the lunch lady, or you wont be able to have lunch."
ETHAN: "No, mom, I don't need that. I will just punch in my magic number and I get free lunch"
Me: "Honey, you only get free lunch with that number because mommy gives the lunch lady money"
Then he gets out of the car still looking at me like he doesn't really beleive me.
I guess we'll see if he actuall gets to eat today.
I wish my debit card was magic!!!!! LOL!

We'll see! The schools don't like to have kids not eat, so they'll often feed them even if they don't turn money in at the moment. Hopefully, Ethan will give the money to the lunch lady instead of pocketing it because his "crazy mom" doesn't believe him about the magic number.
When we had our foster kids, the school didn't let us know the kids were each running up a debt until about a month, so the bill was high! Fortunately, the state was in charge of paying their lunches, but, still, parents should find out whether or not their kids are turning in their lunch money before the situation gets ridiculous!
yes, I know they will give him lunch anyway. Actually at our school if you borrow lunch for more than 2 days all you get is a peanut butter sandwich.

hahaha, did he eat? i swear my kids think the same thing... that i dont pay for anything...everything just magically appears
